Under the deal inked on Friday, Hanoi and these localities agreed on creating favourable conditions for travel firms to take visitors to tourist sites in line with Covid-19 prevention regulations.
They will simplify procedures in tourism operations and make public the list of safe destinations as well as travel companies qualified for operating tours. The localities will also co-operate to build tourism products in the coming time.
At the signing ceremony, Hanoi Department of Tourism Director Dang Huong Dang said that Hanoi will focus on domestic travel in the first half of next year. The city is expected to fully reopen its tourism sector in the second half of the year.
The city has set a target to welcome 9-10 million visitors in 2022, including eight million domestic visitors and 1.2-2 million international tourists, with revenue of VND27 trillion (USD1.17 billion).
Hanoi will concentrate on building attractive tourism products and enhancing promotion activities as well as helping local tourism firms undergo a digital transformation. The city will support travel companies hardest hit by Covid-19.
