Hanoi authorities have punished several state employees for their violations of working regulations after recent spot checks.

Hanoi tightens control over state employees
After this year’s Tet holiday the city set up a taskforce to manage the inspection. To date, it has inspected 33 units in the city.
The taskforce has detected many violations related to working time, office culture and dealing with cumbersome administrative procedures.
The inspection has showed that some units which receive people’s procedures did not have enough number staff members during work hours such as the Department of Planning and Architecture in Ba Vi District, while the district had not yet made public the time for dealing with the procedures.
In Thuong Tin District, the settlement of administrative procedures such as the registration for land use rights and the re-granting of birth certificates were still slow compared to the regulated time.
Some security guards from the departments of transport, construction, planning and investment and some others were found to have illegally collected fees.
The inspection found bad attitudes among several cadres from Thanh Cong Ward, Ba Dinh District while processing people’s procedures.
The Hanoi Department of Health recently laid off a nurse at the Centre for Preventive Medicine who was accused of pilfering vaccines which then resulted in shortage of doses for young patients.
Dong Anh District has criticised and warned 28 civil servants who failed to conform to work regulations.
