Authorities are proposing measures to ensure price stability for the upcoming Tet holiday.

In order to meet rising goods demands, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade has provided a VND400 billion (USD20 million) interest-free loans for 14 enterprises to reserve essential commodities.
The department will also inspect these companies\' price stabilising program, focusing on the quantity and quality of goods sold, as well as hygienic practices.
The department has asked permission from the local People’s Committee to allow 47 trucks operated by 6 companies to run around the clock, transporting food and other essentials. The move is aimed at avoiding possible supply problems.
The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will also seek approval to reserve places for 50 temporary flower markets to mark the coming of Lunar New Year.
According to Deputy Head of the department, Nguyen The Hung, the proposal calls for 20 of these to be located in the city’s inner districts.
In addition, another 38 markets would also be organised by the department to sell Vietnamese goods, in addition 23 open-markets will be set up outside of Hanoi. Hanoi Trade Corporation is preparing to launch 9 of its own markets for the holiday located at Bac Thang Long and Hanel industrial parks.
