From September 8, residents in Zone 1, or red zone, must stay where they are and people who come into this zone without travel permits embedded with QR codes will be strictly fined.

This morning, September 7, many people came to the police station of Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, to ask for new travel permits. Most of the people are representatives from companies that sent related papers to the police through email and Zalo before.

Hoang Thi Thu from a company which specialises in milk companies, said that she had to wait to get travel permits for her colleagues.

People were told to ensure a safe distance when queuing up at the police station.

The ward arranged staff to work overnight to quicken the procedure settlement. On September 7, the work was carried out better than the day before.

Lieutenant colonel Nguyen Quang Trung, head of the local police station, said that on September 6-7, around 14,000 people from 400 local enterprises were provided with travel permits.

Me Tri is among eight wards in Nam Tu Liem District listed within the Red Zone. The regulation is aimed to restrict people from going outside in unnecessary cases, but it still ensures the operation of businesses.
