Under the plan, Quang An and Tu Hoa streets near West Lake will be widened to 21 metres, and the area along Quang An Street will be designated for a park.
The road expansion must prioritise aesthetics, incorporating green spaces and well-designed lighting.
Additionally, pedestrian spaces and green parks should be strategically placed along Nguyen Dinh Thi and Trich Sai streets.
The streets surrounding West Lake are lined with various services, attracting many locals and tourists.
Municipal authorities have also agreed on a study on constructing a bridge connecting Thuy Su Lake and Dam Tri Pond, both adjacent to West Lake.
Dam Tri Pond, spanning 13,000 square metres, has been designated for the Opera House project.
At present, residents must travel over 1.6 kilometres along the lakeside road to reach Dam Tri from Thuy Su.
Meanwhile, following a long period of closure, part of the West Lake Water Park in Tay Ho District will be repurposed as a sports complex.
