Halong Carnival kicks off in Quang Ninh
It is a part of the Halong-Quang Ninh Tourism Week during the Reunification Day and May Day holiday. Deputy President Dang Thi Ngoc Trinh also attended the opening ceremony. The carnival has attracted thousands of visitors.This year carnival is smaller in scale and for a shorter period of time. However, the atmosphere is boisterous than ever with the participation of many well-known singers such as My Tam, Tan Nhan and Thanh Hang and various streets activities.
"Come to Halong to enjoy the beautiful scenery, to understand and love the culture and history of the north-eastern region," said Vu Thi Thuy Thuy, vice chairwoman of Quang Ninh People's Committee.
The Halong Carnival has become a trademark of Quang Ninh Province. It is held annually during the Reunification Day and May Day holiday. Quang Ninh authorities have made it a priority to invest into the infrastructure of Halong Bay and upgrade Halong City in general.
