Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has given an investment certificate to establish Fulbright University Vietnam, the first private, non-profit university in the country.

Chairman of the Trust for University Innovation in Vietnam
Thomas Vallely received the certificate
The project's estimated cost is USD70, of which 28.5 percent is funded by the US government.
The Trust for University Innovation in Vietnam registered to locate the educational institute in HCM City and called for funding as Fulbright University Vietnam will not have controlling shareholders. Instead, its fund will come from annual financial support from the US government and sponsored by individual and organisations in both US and Vietnam.
The university will be managed by a board of trustees and the profits will be used to upgrade and maintain its operation. The earliest recruitment is expected to be started by the end of 2016.
Training courses and research activities will include management and public policies, medical, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, social sciences and humanities.
