HEG members, both Vietnamese and foreigners, will clean up Ho Tay (West Lake) and planting trees in the capital city, aiming to support a greener, cleaner Hanoi on April 23.

The first annual HEG film week will also be launched on April 19 thanks to the assistance of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam. It will screen films on climate change and the environmental backlash of the human race stretching the Earth’s natural resources to the limit.
The Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Allaster Cox, spoke highly of these activities saying that “I strongly commend activities organized by the Hanoi Environment Group for Earth Day 2011 to you.”
“These activities reflect the interest and passion of Hanoi’s expatriate population for preserving Hanoi’s natural environment through practical, community-based action,” he wrote in his letter of support for the HEG’s initiative.
According to Ambassador Cox, Earth Day 2011 is an excellent opportunity to reinforce the importance of environmental protection for younger Hanoi generations.
The Hanoi Environment Group (HEG) is a social network interested in resolving growing environment issues by building cooperation between individuals, the private sector, foreign and local government agencies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
