According to the Lao Cai Hydro-Meteorological Station, Sapa experienced severe cold weather on December 17-20.
The temperature in Sapa and several communes in Bat Xat District has dropped to 2-4 degrees Celsius. On Thursday morning, Sapa even recorded the temperature of below one degree Celcius, accompanied by drizzle and thick fog.
On Thursday afternoon, the temperature in the centre of Sapa Town fell to under 10 degrees Celcius.
“I love this weather in Sapa. Our group plans to stay a few more days to enjoy the refreshing chill,” said Tran Thi Diep, a tourist from the southern province of Ben Tre.
Dense fog affects visibility, but many tourists are keen on the weather in Sapa these days.
