The agency quoted local government officials as saying on January 13 that 11 of the fatalities were caused by landslides that hit mining communities in Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental provinces.
Meanwhile, two others were drowned after floodwater swamped communities in Bayugan City in Agusan del Sur province.
Floods inundated roads, damaged several bridges and swept away many houses.
