The Border Guard Command of central Binh Dinh province has handed over 5 fishermen, saved by Vietnamese fishermen from a wrecked ship, to a representative from the Philippines Embassy in Vietnam on March 7.
The Embassy’s representative, Joe Ban A. Sayong, conveyed his gratitude to the Border Guard Command and local fishermen involved in the rescue.
On February 8, a fishing boat belonging to Pham Ngoc Duong found a vessel sinking in the Truong Sa region. The fishermen tried their best to save the five crewmen in distress and transferred them to the Border Guard Command.
The five fishermen have been undergoing treatment for more than 1 month in the province.
