The fishing boat was shot at by unknown attacker
Nguyen Van Muoi, captain of the fishing boat 96677 from An Hai Commune, and the crew transferred the body of Tran Van Dinh to his hometown.According to Muoi, he and 12 other crewmates were working on the boat then an unknown wooden vessel suddenly approached and shot at them at 8 pm on March 11. Dinh was shot in the head and died immediately.
Because of the dark and panic, the crew failed to identify any flag or descriptive features of the vessel, but Muoi thinks that it was likely a pirate ship.
After a 24-day trip, they returned to Ly Son District on April 4 and bring Dinh's body back to his family.
The border guards and police are investigating the case.
