During the stay in the province on January 7-8, the delegation visited the Imperial City, Thien Mu Pagoda, Dong Ba Market, An Dinh Palace and Song Lab Digital Museum and enjoyed traditional Hue music on the Huong River.
The delegation included representatives from 63 tourism firms and agencies of the Philippines.
At the Imperial City, the group was warmly welcomed by representatives of the provincial tourism industry.
They used the opportunity to promote the locality’s tourism products to visitors from the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
After Hue, the group will visit Danang City and Quang Nam Province in the central region to survey more local tourist sites.
According to Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism, visitors from Southeast Asia accounted for 23 percent of the province’s total number of foreign tourists last year.
Between late 2023 and early this year, many visitors from the Philippines have visited Thua Thien-Hue and Vietnam’s central region, Phuc added.
This year, Thua Thien-Hue’s tourism sector has set a target to welcome around 3.50-4 million tourists with a total revenue of VND8 trillion (USD330.57 million).
