A vehicle carrying 20 students to school overturns in Gia Lai Province’s Chu Prong District on April 22, leaving 11 injured.
According to local authorities, the accident occurred at around 6.30 am as 57-year-old driver Phan Dinh Du was transporting students from Nguyen Dinh Chieu Secondary School and Tran Phu High School. The bus was travelling along National Highway 19 in Thang Hung commune when it veered off the road and plunged approximately five metres down a slope before overturning.
Local residents rushed to the scene, breaking open the vehicle's doors and helping students escape from the overturned bus.
The crash resulted in injuries to 11 students and the driver. Three students suffered head injuries and two sustained arm injuries. They were taken to Hung Vuong Hospital and other nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
