Large bunches of black wires hanging over the streets are not only affecting the city's look but also pose safety risks for drivers and local residents.

An electric pole is covered by electric wires on lane 102 Chuong Trinh Street.

A local resident, Nguyen Anh Tuyet, said that this place is near a school and always crowded, and the electric pole poses a danger.

Many big bunches of electric wires and cables are also seen hanging on poles on De La Thanh Street. The street gathers lots of shops selling wooden furniture, and poses the risk of fire.

Lane A8 on Ton That Tung Street which hosts many clothes shops has a similar situation. The dense electric wires are hanging dangerously close to the shop.


Hundreds of electric wires and cables run from the poles to houses in an old apartment building on Ton That Tung Street. Some fires caused by the wires during stormy and flood seasons have been reported.

The city has planned to bury all electric wires and cables on 300 streets during 2021-2025. Investors in new streets have also been asked to bury cables underground.
