Between early May and July, Dung Quat Oil Refinery was also shut down to resolve technical problems before being handed over to BSR by the end of this year.
He added that, most of the technical faults had been tackled, except for a problem detected on August 5 at the catalysis cracking sector, where the Co-Boiler equipment cracked and began to leak fuel during its production process.
Therefore, BSR said it had summoned the contractor, Technip, and agreed the official shutdown on August 8. However, the repair time will be decided at a forthcoming meeting. Technip will bear all repair costs. The contractor has invited 10 experts from Japan, France and Italy to Vietnam for dealing with the problem.
After the shutdown from May to July, the refinery has worked at full capacity without a hitch.
Currently, Dung Quat Oil Refinery meets around 33% of domestic petroleum demand.
