Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper has given presents to families of war dead and invalids in the northern central region on the occasion of the 76 years of Vietnamese War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

In Thanh Hoa Province, Dantri/Dtinews co-operated with local authorities to present 10 gifts valued at VND 1 million each to war invalids in Dong Luong Commune in the mountainous district of Lang Chanh.

A war invalid, Pham Van Binh, 75, said that he was very moved to receive support from the newspaper local authorities.

"Thanks to support from the government and various organisations, we are having a good life," Binh said. "Your support has given us motivation to overcome the painful injuries and various challenges in modern lives. Thank you so much."

The newspaper also gave 30 gifts valued at VND1 million each to 30 families of war dead and invalids in three neighbouring provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Quang Tri.

Chairman of Ha Tinh's Son Giang Commune People's Committee, Nguyen Duc Thang, said that many local families are still living in pain left by the American War.
