In its resolution, municipal authorities demanded China stop its provocative activities and withdraw its oil rig Haiyang Shiyou-981 along with escort forces from Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone (EZZ).

They stated that the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago illegally occupied by China in 1974 is an island district of the city, and part of Vietnam’s undisputable sovereignty.
Danang calls on people from all walks of life and Chinese National Assembly (NA) deputies to raise their voice to the Chinese government and urge it to halt its groundless acts which are infringing on Vietnam’s territorial waters, the resolution said.
