Crocodile found inside residential home in Ho Chi Minh City

A resident in Ho Chi Minh City was startled to discover a crocodile inside his home and has since handed it over to local authorities.

A crocodile weighing around 1.8 kilograms is found in a house in HCM City on October 14.

According to Binh Tien Ward Police, Nguyen Trung Thieu found a crocodile weighing around 1.8 kilograms in his yard on October 14. Realising it was a dangerous wild animal, he managed to capture it and reported the incident to the police.

“We immediately arrived at the scene to receive the animal and transferred it to the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department for proper handling,” the police said.

Binh Tien Ward Police urged the public to raise awareness about wildlife protection, stressing that people must not keep, trade, or transport wild animals illegally. Residents who encounter wild or dangerous animals in residential areas should promptly notify local authorities or forest rangers for timely action.

In July 2025, a similar case occurred when residents discovered a two-kilogram crocodile in the Nuoc Den Canal in Binh Hung Hoa Ward.
