The National Steering Committee on Covid-19 Prevention and Control has warned of a Covid-19 pandemic resurgence in Vietnam

According to the committee, the pandemic has recurred in some countries with the penetration of the BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants

Vietnam has recorded some BA.4 and BA.5 cases. There are concerns that the pace of Covid-19 vaccination in many cities and provinces has remained low.

Under the committee’s instruction, concerned agencies and localities should be vigilant about the risk of a resurgence in the pandemic.

It is necessary to closely supervise Covid-19 vaccination in the second half of the year and prepare plans for vaccinations in 2023 as well as issue a vaccination plan for children aged between six months and five years old.

Meanwhile, the application of third and fourth jabs needs to be boosted.

Since April this year, cities and provinces nationwide have conducted the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged between 5-11.

By July 15, a total of 9.76 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine had been given to children aged between 5-11.
