The crime scene has been sealed off as officers take witness statements and pursue the investigation.
Relatives discovered the bodies in the morning after failing to contact Do Duy Thien, 47. Thien and his 11-year-old grandson were found dead on the front porch, while his wife, Chu Hong Hanh, 48, was found dead in the bedroom.
The family home, which also served as their agricultural produce shop, is located in a remote area.
Police said the victims’ bodies bore multiple injuries. A safe and other belongings inside the house showed signs of disturbance, leading investigators to suspect the motive was theft.
