The cherry trees have been planted on the roads leading to the tea plantations in O Quy Ho Pass.

According to the former director of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Pham Que, the cherry trees were imported from China over 20 years ago.

Like the cherry trees presented by the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Sapa Town's centre, the trees have also adapted well to the local weather and often start to bloom in early December.

The owners of the tea plantations have welcomed visitors from this year.

Many tourists have arrived to enjoy the beauty of the flowers in full bloom.

The site has also attracted many professional photographers.

Sa Pa Town People's Committee is planning to co-operated with owners of tea plantations in O Quy Ho Pass to develop the area into a tourist site.
