Can Tho-Taiwan air route to be resumed

Flights linking the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho and Taiwan will be reopened on January 21 to meet demand during the coming Tet Lunar New Year.

Flights linking the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho and Taiwan will be reopened on January 21 to meet demand during the coming Tet Lunar New Year.

According to Can Tho International Airport, there will be flights every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. Departures from Can Tho will be at 2:30 pm and return flights will land at 10:45 pm in Can Tho on the same day.

Budget carrier VietJet Air launched the Can Tho-Taiwan air route in January 2020 with four return flights per week. However, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the air route has been suspended.

VietJet Air has also resumed flights linking Can Tho and South Korea’s Incheon City following a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Visitors from Taiwan were the third most common tourists to Vietnam with 758,000 tourists, behind South Korea with 3.2 million and China with 1.5 million.
