On Friday, representatives from Can Tho and Quang Ninh authorities attended a meeting on measures to boost co-operation between Can Tho and Van Don international airports.
Van Don International Airport
The two airports are designed to have an annual capacity of three million passengers per year. But, to date, they serve around half of the figure, so there is still a lot of room and potential to open more flights from and to the airports.
Delegates at the meeting agreed on building a logistics centre at Can Tho International Airport and quickening procedures to put the cargo terminal at Van Don International Airport into operation.
The two localities also discussed the co-operation to promote high-quality farm products of the Mekong Delta region to China.
Le Quang Manh, party secretary of Can Tho, disclosed that the first flight linking Can Tho and Van Don will be run by VietJet Air from April 25.
