The donation includes 1 million medical masks, 100,000 N95 masks, 100 oxygen generators and US$200,000 as a contribution to Vietnam's COVID-19 containment efforts to halt the rapid spreading of the virus among the community in Ho Chi Minh City.
The material and money support for Vietnam demonstrates the spirit of friendship and close cooperation among neighboring countries in the fight against COVID-19, PM Hun Sen said.
Although the national economy is still encountering plenty of difficulties due to the prolonged impacts of the pandemic, this is the first time the Cambodian Government has decided to donate cash to a foreign government to help prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.
Previously, Cambodia also provided some medical supplies to help Laos, Myanmar, East Timor and Nepal cope with COVID-19.
