Phu Giao 02FF Pig Farm in Binh Duong has been found to have discharged untreated wastewater into the Be River.

Binh Duong Police announced on January 2 that Phu Giao 02FF Pig Farm in Phu Giao District which is raising over 15,500 pigs was found to have violated environmental regulations.

"We conducted a check on January 1 at the 25,000-square-metre farm and saw that they were discharging 51 cubic metre per day of untreated wastewater directly into the Be River," police reported. "The farm failed to show legal documents relating to environment protection, or contracts with environmental firms on transporting and treating hazardous waste such as broken fluorescent light bulbs, animal medicine packages and needles."

At the check, police also found that the farm had yet to complete their wastewater treatment facilities.
