According to the newspaper, on May 4, two bills on the farmstay’s exorbitant price applied for a group of 17 tourists. The total of the bills, which are around VND13.5 million, include drinks sold higher than the restaurant’s listed usual price. For instance, a bottle of Coca Cola was sold at VND35,000 (USD1.52) against the listed price of 20,000. A bottle of Heineken was charged at VND50,000. Moreover, the prices in the bills exclude the surcharge of 15 percent applied during holidays.

A representative from Binh Dinh’s market management board said that the investigation into the case is being carried out.

Nguyen Quang Tan, manager of the farmstay, said that the transportation fees of goods to the farmstay is costlier than many other areas in Binh Dinh, so food and drinks are more expensive.
