The HCM City\'s Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) will entertain the city this week with a gala performance by Vietnamese and foreign talents.

The annual event, Autumn Melody Concert, will this year include three evening performances featuring 20 young musicians and dancers who will perform with the 150-member HBSO.
Tomorrow\'s show will feature music by two young composers, Nguyen Manh Duy Linh and Viet Anh, who have studied at prestigious schools in Russia and New Zealand, respectively.
Linh\'s latest work, Concerto for Violin&Chamber Orchestra, will be played by Russian violinist Sergei Sivolgin with support from the orchestra.
The orchestra will continue the two-hour show, playing Anh\'s Vang Son (Resplendence).
Veteran conductor Tran Nhat Minh will lead the orchestra.
Violinist Tran Huu Quoc and Korean pianist Cho Eun -young will play music by Norwegian and German composers Edvard Grieg and Mendelssohn.
They will perform Peer-Suite No 2 and Concerto for Violin, Piano&String Orchestra, under the lead of young conductor Nguyen Anh Son – a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Music Conservatory.
In Thursday\'s show, young dancers Quynh Ly, Diem Trang and Phi Diep will perform extracts from popular ballet dances such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Diana and Actaeon.
Italian and Belgian dancers Francesca Imoda and Samuel Lefeuvre will show off their contemporary dance talents in the Magnetic Field, alongside Vietnamese artists Bui Ngoc Quan and Quach Phuong Hoang.
Famous sopranos Cho Hae - ryong and Thanh Nga will perform on Friday, singing Pietro Mascagni\'s opera Cavalleria Rusticana.
Tenor Pham Trang, alto Ngoc Tuyen, and baritone Phuc Tiep will also perform on Friday.
The three shows will open at 8pm on August 17, 18 and 19 respectively at the HCM City Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, District 1.
Tickets, from VND250,000 (USD12) to VND500,000 (USD24), can be bought at the theatre\'s box office. Students can buy tickets for VND60,000 (USD3) each.
