According to the ministry's report, most of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 56 out of 63 localities in the country with five localities seeing the highest numbers including Hanoi (837), Phu Tho (379), Yen Bai (250), Nghe An (245), and Quang Ninh (209).
As of Saturday evening, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 10.64 million. The country now stands 12th among 227 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include Hanoi (1,586,134), HCM City (608,408), Nghe An (481,516), Bac Giang (385,223), and Binh Duong (383,398).
On April 30, an additional 16,727 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 9,262,255.
On Saturday evening, three deaths related to Covid-19 were announced in Binh Thuan and Kien Giang provinces, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 43,041.
Vietnam on April 29 administered 241,434 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, raising the total number of doses given to local people to over 214.77 million.
