340-kg bomb safely defused in Nghe An province

Sappers in the central province of Nghe An safely detonated a 340-kg bomb left over from the American War on October 16.

The operation was jointly conducted by forces from the provincial Military Command, the Military Command of Defence Zone 5-Anh Son, and the Military Command of Do Luong Commune.

The bomb was discovered by local residents on October 14 on the right bank of the Lam River, about 200m from Do Luong Bridge in Dang Son Hamlet, Do Luong Commune.

It was identified as an MK-82 general-purpose bomb, measuring 35cm in diameter and 155cm in length.
