Over 1.7 million students in HCM City returned to school on March 1 after staying home for a month following the latest Covid-19 outbreak.

All students have body temperature taken when returning to school in HCM City on March 1.

All schools have been disinfected and implemented preventive measures for the return. They also called the parents to discuss timetables and other measures to ensure public safety.

Nguyen Doan Trang, head of Nguyen Du Secondary School in District 1, said all students had their body temperature taken, asked to wash hands and wear face masks. The students also filled in medical declaration forms and were advised to use their own water bottles. If any of the students have common symptoms such as a cough or a fever, they should stay home and report the issue to the homeroom teacher.

Cafeterias have also been arranged so that a safe distance is maintained between students.

According to the HCM City Department of Education and Training, they have asked schools to strictly follow preventive measures and monitor people who returned from outbreak areas.

About 2 million students in Hanoi will return to school on March 2. Students in Hai Duong Province and Hai Phong City will continue to stay home.
