Thirteen Vietnamese fishermen  have returned home

The thirteen men were the crew members of two fishing vessels from Quang Ngai. All thirteen came back on one boat, the other having been seized along with the fishing equipment of both ships.

Fisherman Nguyen Anh Hung of vessel said that his boat was seized by two China patrol boats on June 25.

The Chinese ships rammed the Vietnamese boat, causing some damages and then it towed to Sanya port of Sanya City in Hainan Province.

Before allowing them to go free, the Chinese revoked took their fishing equipment as well as their catch.

During their detention, the Vietnamese fishermen were closely supervised by the Chinese and were not allowed to leave their ship. They could do nothing but wait for word from the Vietnamese Embassy in China, and banned from travelling to any place.

The other fishing boat, along with its six man crew, was detained by China on July 3.
