The Danang Forest Protection Department receives three wild rare animals which are handed over by local residents on October 10.

According to the department, the three, a crested serpent eagle weighing 1.5 kilos, a sunda pangolin weighing 1.2 kilos, and an oriental pied hornbill weighing 0.5 kilo, were handed over to them on October 10.

"The animals were earlier found and caught by three local people in their gardens," the department said. "The locals then informed us about their findings when learning that the animals belong to wild rare groups that need urgent protection."

The department said that they will keep the animals for health check-ups and monitoring before releasing them back into the wild.
