Of the 18 remaining projects, 16 belong to the Rach Chiec National Sports Complex in Thu Duc City. These include a football academy and a cluster of six outdoor training football pitches, a main stadium with an athletic track, a velodrome integrated with a motorcycle racing track, an outdoor football field, and an athletics competition field.
At the investment promotion forum, Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee, said that although HCM City is a significant centre for the country's economy, culture, and society, its potential for cultural development has not been fully tapped.
Until now, the city has not hosted the SEA Games or other significant continental and global events.
