The Hoang Cau-Voi Phuc section, part of Hanoi's Belt Road 1 project, spans 2.2 kilometres, connecting the O Cho Dua Intersection in Dong Da District to the Voi Phuc Intersection in Ba Dinh District. The route passes through several main streets, including Cat Linh, La Thanh, Lang Ha, Giang Vo, and Nguyen Chi Thanh.

Approved in 2017, the section has a total investment of VND7.8 trillion (USD305.22 million), with up to VND 7 trillion allocated for site clearance and compensation.

The project has been progressing slowly due to site clearance and compensation challenges. Soaring compensation costs have made the resettlement process more complex, further delaying progress.

Over the past two weeks, many houses in the project area have been demolished.

An overpass is planned for the Lang Ha-Giang Vo-La Thanh Intersection to alleviate traffic congestion on this gridlocked route during peak hours.
A resident facing site clearance near the Lang Ha Intersection said her family received over VND100 million per square metre compensation and was allocated a resettlement location. After receiving the full compensation, they are required to relocate within three weeks.
The site clearance for the road section is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
Once operational, the road stretch will ease congestion on La Thanh Street and boost connectivity to Hanoi's city centre, improving overall travel convenience.
