The scene of the accident
Four people including two children died in a fire at their house in Nha Trang City on Thursday morning.
According to a report from local authorities, the fire occurred at 10 am on November 28 at a three-storey house on Phuong Sai Street. The fire started from the 100-square-metre ground floor which is used as a shop selling coffins and votive papers.
The fire quickly spread to other floors where two women and two children were staying.
Seeing the fire, many people came and tried to put it under control using water and fire distinguishers but their efforts failed until firefighters arrived.
A local man, Nguyen Quoc Chung, said that he saw two women in the house ran out after failing to control the fire. However, one of them and a man then rushed into the house again to save the two children aged one year and three months.
The fire was brought under control at around 11 am but the house was totally burnt. Four people were found dead in the debris including a man, a woman and her two grandchildren.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
