A cargo train derailed while running through the Hai Van Nam Station in the central city of Danang on November 1.
According to the Vietnam Railway Authority, the incident occurred at 9.10 pm on November 1 when the train transporting confectionery and milk was reaching the Hai Van Nam Station. The accident blocked the railway, affecting the operation of other trains running through the area.
Rescue forces are still working on Saturday morning to clear the section.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
More train derailments have recently occurred in the central provinces. Up to five incidents occurred in the neighbouring Thua Thien-Hue Province in August and September due to technical issues and outdated railway infrastructure.
