Ca Mau Airport.
Ca Mau Airport's runways are 1,500 metres long and can receive the ATR 72-500, AN-2, MIA-17, KINGAIR B200 and similar planes. The ATR 72-500 is already being used for the direct Ca Mau-HCM City flights. The average ticket price is around VND1.5m (USD64).
According to Ca Mau People's Committee, the investments on traffic infrastructure system connecting Ca Mau with other provinces have been able to meet some development demands but it still cannot meet Ca Mau's potential.
In 2019, Ca Mau received nearly two million tourists but there's only one return flight a day to HCM City. In order to build the master transportation plan for 2020 with a view to 2030, it's an urgent matter to upgrade Ca Mau Airport including longer runway and larger civil terminal to receive Airbus 320 and Airbus 321 and similar planes for Ca Mau-Hanoi and Ca Mau-Danang routes.
Ca Mau authorities urged the PM to approve the decision to upgrade Ca Mau Airport in 2021 to 2025 period and create favourable conditions for airlines to invest, open new air routes and have healthy competition.
