Three Covid-19 cases found at Ba Ria-Vung Tau school

Three 12th-grade students at a high school in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have tested positive for Covid-19.

According to Ba Ria City Health Centre, these are the first cases reported at a local school during the latest outbreak.

Immediately after the outbreak was detected at the high school, the Ba Ria Health Centre conducted containment measures, targeting the school and three related households in Long Phuoc Commune, Hoa Long Commune, and Phuoc Nguyen Ward in Ba Ria City.

On May 18, health authorities traced contact at the school and the households. No new cases were found, but efforts to identify individuals at risk are ongoing to ensure thorough containment of the outbreak.

Starting May 19, disinfection was implemented at the school, patients' homes, and nearby areas. Health workers guided residents on using Cloramine B to sanitise surfaces and household items. The patients were told to wear masks, self-isolate at home for a minimum of five days, and avoid contact with others for 10 days from the onset of symptoms or a positive test result.
