Police in central Quang Tri Province have successfully rescued two Dutch tourists who went missing after venturing deep into a forest in Con Tien Commune during a motorbike trip on the evening of October 6.
According to local police, the pair lost their way as heavy rain made the mountain trails slippery and difficult to navigate. The area had no mobile phone signal, making communication and location tracking nearly impossible.
After being alerted by local residents, Con Tien Commune police quickly mobilised search teams with the help of villagers. Despite the darkness and heavy rain, rescue teams equipped with flashlights trekked through muddy paths and dense forest to reach the suspected area.
After several hours of searching, the rescuers located the two tourists and their motorbikes. Due to the steep and muddy terrain, a specialised towing vehicle was brought in to extract them safely from the site.
Both tourists were unharmed and later taken to a safe location, authorities confirmed.
