Le Xuan Huy, who has been working as a bus driver for five years, considers the bus as his second home. So, on holidays such as Christmas, International Women’s Day (March 8), or the Lunar New Year or Tet, Huy and his wife Dang Cam Tu often decorate the vehicle based on suitable themes.
Bus route 86 carries travellers from Ben Thanh Market to Long Kieu Bridge. The couple have recently spent their own money to buy decorative items, including Christmas trees and Santa Clause, for the bus as Christmas nears.
“The bus is our second home, so making it nicer gives us great joy,” Huy said.
Many children can borrow teddy bears when sitting on the bus.
The vehicle is also decorated with dolls.
Huy has arranged a basket of cartoon key holders to present to students and children.
Phan Thi Uc said that her niece feels better when playing with dolls on the bus.
