Rice fields in Dai Hung, Van Kim and Doc Tin communes of My Duc District have ripened. Around half of them have been harvested.

Local farmers have used harvesting machines over the past few years, instead of manual methods.

Rice fields in Van Kim Commune are expected to output two hundred kilogrammes for every 360 square metres this year.

The rental of rice harvesting machines cost VND150,000 per 360 square metres.

The number of farmers in My Duc has decreased. Many households have given their fields to others to cultivate free of charge or even left them unused.

Incomes are modest, which is why many people have given up farm work.

Besides hiring harvesting machines, farmers also have to rent vehicles to transport their rice home.

My Duc District will focus on agricultural and tourism development during the 2020-2025 period. Ripening rice fields may become a local tourism product.
