The Moc Chau persimmon season lasts from August to December every year.

At this time when the weather turns colder, persimmon gardens have shed nearly all their leaves, leaving bunches of ripening fruits.

Persimmons look like tiny lanterns when seen from a distance.

Nguyen Duy Thanh, owner of a persimmon garden in Moc Chau, said that his family has 150 persimmon trees which are 25 years old. He mostly just sold the fruit in the past. But, over recent years, he opened his garden to welcome tourists as well.

The entrance to local persimmon gardens is VND30,000 per adult and VND10,000 per child.

Persimmons cost VND35,000-50,000 per kilo. The gardens will be open to visitors until the Lunar New Year Holiday.
