Long holiday break boosts Vietnam tourism

Vietnam’s tourism sector surged during the three-day Hung Kings Commemoration holiday and four-day Reunification Day-May Day break.

According to Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism, the city welcomed an estimated 190,000 international visitors and 1.5 million domestic travellers between April 25 and May 3, generating around VND 8.7 trillion (USD 330.8 million) in tourism revenue.

The department said a series of tourism stimulus measures and promotional programmes helped drive demand, while the city also hosted an 890-member MICE delegation from Indonesia during the period.
