Up to 30 dishes made from a 30-kilo catfish were introduced at Vietnam International Travel Mart – Can Tho.
The mart took place in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho from November 29 to December 1.

Besides exporting catfish, the company provide catfishes weighing 25-30 kilos, which are raised for many years and 5 to 7-fold heavier than exported varieties, for restaurants.
According to a firm representative, the Mekong giant of up to 150-300 kilos listed in the Vietnamese Red Book is illegally hunted as they are popular with restaurants. Instead of using this kind of catfish, restaurants should turn to use catfish bred for many years to help protect the Mekong River’s bio-diversity.
42 chefs were assigned to cook 30 dishes made from the catfish.
