The event on August 7-11 is expected to see the participation of 200 instructors and practitioners from 16 delegations of 14 countries along with 800 members from local delegations.

The performance of Binh Dinh martial arts
The opening ceremony of the festival will be held at 8 pm on August 8 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, and broadcast live on VTV8.
According to Ta Xuan Chanh, deputy head of the programme’s organising board and director of Binh Dinh Province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, performances will feature the development of Vietnamese traditional martial arts which have been widely known across the world.
Unlike the previous festival, besides exchange activities among the teams, there will a competition.
In 2012, Binh Dinh traditional martial arts were recognised as national intangible heritage. The province plans to submit a project to seek UNESCO’s approval to recognise the traditional martial arts as the World Cultural Intangible Heritage.
