The ceremony also saw the participation of Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, ministers and heads of 18 delegations from APEC economies, Danang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho as well as representatives of the city’s departments and agencies.
APEC Park opens in Da Nang City on November 9
At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh said that the APEC Park was an effort to expand and deepen understanding among APEC members, connecting people and promoting cultural exchanges.
Minh highly valued the support from APEC members, who sent selected works of art that showcased the region’s rich culture and contributed to the overall theme of APEC 2017 Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future.
“Located by Han River, at the heart of the dynamic city of Da Nang, the 3,000 square-metre APEC Park is dedicated to you, your economies and your people. My hope is that it will be a symbol of APEC’s innovation, vigor and spirit of cooperation, and one of the must-visit attraction for anyone traveller in Da Nang”, he emphasised.

The deputy prime minister and guests unveiled the stone-carved APEC 2017 logo, planted trees and enjoyed the art works meticulously sculptured by talented artisans from APEC economies.
The park is also the place for leaders of APEC economies to grow trees during the time of APEC summit week. After the event finishes, the park will be maintained as a tourist site in Danang.
