The mobilized workers used sandbags to construct a temporary dyke to protect the beach.

Nguyen Van Tuan from the rescue team of the Son Tra Peninsula and Danang Tourist Beaches Management Board stated that the work is primarily carried out in the mornings, when the tide is low.

Phan Dinh Duc, deputy director of the Danang Management Board for Agricultural and Rural Development Construction and Investment, reported that the erosion has impacted some 500 metres of beaches in Son Tra District, including 100 metres of My Khe Beach.

"We are taking advantage of the low tide in the mornings to accelerate progress. In the long term, the city plans to construct a concrete dyke to protect the beach," Duc stated.

Chairman of the Danang People's Committee, Le Trung Chinh, urged concerned agencies to take urgent measures to ensure the safety of residents and tourists.
