German band Bad Boys Blue will perform at Hanoi’s Cultural Friendship Palace on January 3 night, as an opening for their activities this year.
The concert will begin at 8pm, featuring a Euro-Disco-style stage and songs selected for Vietnam by British-German singer John McInerney, the frontman of the band.
Bad Boys Blue’s international hits, including You're a Woman, Pretty Young Girl, I Wanna Hear Your Heartbeat, and Come Back and Stay, are popular in Vietnam and often played along on festive occasions like New Year’s Eve, festivals, or weddings.
In 2017, the band and singer Sandra Ann Lauer were expected to perform in the country for the first time on the night of March 11 at Hanoi’s National Convention Centre. However, they had to cancel the show after McInerney suffered from serious injuries in an accident in Russia. The concert was later changed to a Sandra Ann Lauer live show.
Two original members of the band died in the past decades. The remaining original member, John McInerney, still performs with two female back vocals, Sylwia McInerney and Edith Miracle.
