The exhibition, from August 8-23 at Heritage Space, Dolphin Plaza, 28 Tran Binh, Hanoi, includes more than 100 photographs taken at many Northern monuments and cultural spaces, such as Tay Dang, Lo Hanh, Phu Lao, and Chu Quyen.
Head of the organising board Nguyen Duc Binh said the exhibition was the result of work by some 4,000 members of the Dinh Lang Viet group.
The group wants to share the changing conditions of tangible and intangible cultural values in traditional Vietnamese communal houses, growing damage, the modification of traditional values, and the possibility of the disappearance of communal houses across the country.

"We hope that the exhibition will act as a bridge among experts, researchers and tradition culture lovers as well as honoring the cultural, historical values and the talents of many generations," Binh said.
During the exhibition there will be seminars, discussions and talks by local leading cultural experts.
The exhibition will recreate village culture through community activities such as cultural cuisine prepared by members of Dinh Lang Viet, performance of unique traditional arts, including festive oratorio, Xoan singing, sculpture, carving, and art from traditional craft villages, including Chang Son and Dong Ky.
